Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of locksmith services provided by QA Locksmith, a mobile locksmith operating in the Greater Toronto Area, Ontario. Please read these terms carefully before requesting service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By requesting services from QA Locksmith, whether by phone, web form, or any other means, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time; the current version will always be posted on this page.

2. Services Provided

QA Locksmith provides mobile locksmith services including but not limited to: car key cutting and programming, automotive lockout assistance, residential lockout service, lock installation and rekeying, transponder key programming, and commercial locksmith services. All services are performed by certified technicians.

3. Pricing and Payment

All pricing is quoted upfront before work begins. Quoted prices are inclusive of labour and standard materials unless otherwise stated. Additional parts required for a service (such as a replacement lock cylinder) are quoted separately before installation. Payment is due upon completion of service. We accept cash, major credit cards, and e-transfer. We do not commence work without a confirmed quote. Final pricing may vary from the initial estimate only if the scope of work changes materially (e.g., a vehicle lock is more complex than described) — we will advise you before proceeding.

4. Proof of Ownership / Authorization

For security of all parties, we reserve the right to request proof that you are authorized to access the vehicle, property, or lock in question. Acceptable documents include: vehicle registration, insurance certificate, property lease or deed, or government-issued photo identification. We may decline service if satisfactory authorization cannot be provided. This policy exists to protect our customers and the public from unauthorized entry.

5. Liability

QA Locksmith and its technicians exercise professional care in all work performed. Our liability for any damage arising from our services is limited to the cost of the service performed. We are not liable for pre-existing damage to locks, vehicles, or property that was present before our arrival. We carry commercial liability insurance; a certificate of insurance is available upon written request. We are not liable for consequential or incidental damages.

6. Warranty on Workmanship

We warrant all labour performed for 30 days from the date of service. If a defect in our workmanship becomes apparent within this period, we will return to remedy the issue at no charge. This warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, tampering, normal wear, or factors outside our control. Parts and hardware are covered by the manufacturer's warranty only.

7. Emergency and After-Hours Service

We offer 24/7 service at a consistent rate — we do not apply after-hours surcharges for calls between 10pm and 6am unless specifically disclosed at the time of booking. Response time estimates are provided in good faith but may vary due to traffic, weather, and demand. We are not liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond our control.

8. Cancellation

You may cancel a service request at any time before a technician arrives at your location, free of charge. If a technician has arrived and commenced work, you are responsible for the agreed service fee. If you cancel after arrival but before work begins, a minimum call-out fee of $40 applies to cover travel costs.

9. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes arising from our services will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario.
